NOTICE OF PROPOSED CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT

Johnson, et al. v. Legacy Professionals, LLP, Case No. 2025CH00542

Were you notified that your personal information may have been impacted by a Data Incident at Legacy Professionals, LLP in or about April of 2024? You may be eligible for benefits from a class action settlement.

A Court authorized this Settlement Website. You are not being sued. This is not a solicitation from a lawyer.

  • A Settlement has been reached with Legacy Professionals, LLP (the “Defendant” or “Legacy”) in a class action lawsuit about an alleged data breach to Legacy’s computer systems in or about April of 2024, that allegedly resulted in unauthorized third parties accessing customers’ personally identifiable information (“PII”) and/or personal health information (“PHI”) (the “Data Incident”). Plaintiffs allege negligence, breach of implied contract, and violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. The Defendant denies all allegations and any wrongdoing.

  • The Settlement Class consists of all persons whose PII and/or PHI was potentially accessible in the Data Incident, including all persons who were sent a notice of the Data Incident.

  • Under the proposed Settlement, the Defendant will pay $3,300,000 into a Settlement Fund to resolve the lawsuit. The Settlement Fund will provide benefits to Settlement Class Members who submit a timely and valid claim (reimbursement of up to $5,000 of documented, out-of-pocket losses and a pro rata cash payment estimated to be $75, and twenty-four (24) months of three (3) bureau credit and identity theft monitoring), as well as Notice and Claims Administration Costs, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses, and Service Awards. Benefit amounts may be subject to pro rata (proportional) adjustment based on the amount of valid claims submitted.

  • Your rights are affected whether you do or do not act. Please read this Settlement Website carefully.
